Food protection

We make food more "natural", allowing us to replace or reduce the use of synthetic additives, against the oxidation of fats and proteins, as well as the appearance and growth of undesirable bacteria, fungi and yeasts.

Agronomic applications

A large part of the irrigated groves are under deficit or maintenance irrigation. This situation shows how exposed the crop is to inclement weather, mainly to the increasingly frequent droughts and high temperatures.

Agricultural production is currently in a phase of constant change in which numerous active materials are being eliminated. These helped combat numerous pests and diseases, which is why a much more sustainable, efficient and environmentally friendly cultivation is necessary. To face all this change successfully, the use of biostimulants is also necessary, since they help us strengthen our plants.

The antioxidant and complexing properties of polyphenols, with an impact on the hormonal balance of crops, give them great potential for use as agricultural inputs.

Olivenova^® natural products support the elimination of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in situations of water stress. It is a novel and potential category of agricultural inputs, which improve tolerance to abiotic stress, in addition to improving the quality of agricultural products.

The syntheses of secondary metabolites, such as phenols, have shown a positive correlation with plant vigor (Burguieres et al., 2007). The exogenous application of phenolic antioxidants stimulates their endogenous concentration in plant cells, activating, in turn, enzymes that catalyze the synthesis of other antioxidant metabolites (Yangui et al., 2011). It follows that exogenous antioxidants that stimulate the antioxidant enzymatic response of plants can also stimulate both energy flow through the pentose phosphate pathway and cellular phenolic synthesis (Shetty et al., 2004).

Hydroxytyrosol has a specific molecular weight that provides plants with a very powerful antioxidant and biostimulant character, being able to intervene in the natural physiological processes of the plant. It has been described that hydroxytyrosol stimulates the biological processes of plants, improving nutrient use, tolerance to pest attacks, response to abiotic stress and crop quality (Yangui et al., 2010).

With biostimulants like Oleagri^®, it is possible to alleviate the effects of water deficit, increased temperatures and pathogen attacks.
